Katsuhiro Harada, producer of the Pokkén tournament, is backed by a sequel, but says it is not Bandai Namco’s decision to take

A game that deserves a little more love is Switch, Wii U and the arcade title developed by Bandai Namco, Pokkén Tournament.

He was well received on all three occasions, but since then fans of this unique fighter have wondered if they will be pursued in the future. A Twitter follower of Katsuhiro Harada (director Tekken 7 and a producer on Pokkén) asked the industry icon if it will be open to return for a sequel.

While Harada would like to “definitely” – as usual, it is still a situation that is not under the actual control of the developer (in this case, Bandai Namco). As mentioned below, it ultimately depends on Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. On a more promising note, Bandai Namco obviously maintains a good – if not excellent – relationship with both parties.

Almost everything Nintendo has done lately, in connection with the Pokkén Tournament, is to offer a test to Switch Online subscribers in July last year. With the 25th anniversary of Pokémon next month, who knows what might happen.

As for Harada, earlier this month, he suggested his new game under Bandai Namco, being the most expensive project the Japanese publisher has ever given the green light to – and it might not even be a fighting game!
