Katharine McPhee, 37, and David Foster, 71, are dating their son Rennie for the first time

Katharine McPhee and her husband David Foster, 71, were first seen with their newborn son Rennie on Thursday as they enjoyed a brunch in Beverly Hills.

The family dined outdoors at the luxurious Maybourne Hotel with a select group of friends to celebrate 37 years at McPhee.

Katharine, who greeted her first child with David in late February, looked at her eager mother as she tenderly wrapped Rennie in her arms at the designated table.

Clearly hit, Katharine pressed her son’s head to her cheek before throwing a few kisses.

The little newborn looked sweet in a bright white blouse and swirled in his mother’s arms as she continued to code him.

Katharine and David were first seen arriving in the luxury unit, with Rennie safely stored in a padded baby carrier, which Katharine could easily handle.

The actress Chelneriță looked ready for spring in a colorful floral mini dress, with a neckline that allowed her to show off her smooth neckline.

Due to the inclement weather, Katharine wore her ensemble with a cardigan knitted with ivory cable, which hung right next to her dress.

McPhee’s brown hair was parted in the middle and dressed in a small, elegant ponytail and wore a natural, make-up look.

As Katharine took control of the baby stroller, David packed his things in a blue Givenchy bag he carried in one hand.

The 71-year-old musician cut an elegant figure to celebrate his wife’s birthday in a pair of distressed denim jeans and a light blue shirt.

Foster coped with the unusually cool SoCal weather in a navy blue jacket.

After enjoying their delicious brunch with friends, the married couple ran away from the unit and made their way to their black SUV.

Rennie looked incredibly comfortable in his carrier as he was wrapped in a white and gray baby blanket.

Following the COVID-19 safety protocols, McPhee and Foster made sure to wear face masks.

Katharine easily installed her newborn in the back seat of the car, while David jumped into the driver’s seat.

Katharine’s representative announced Rennie’s famous birth in late February, telling people, “Mom, Dad and son are doing great.”

Rennie is Katharine’s first child, but David also has five daughters – four of whom are older than his current stepmother.

McPhee finally revealed the name of her newborn son, while making a distant appearance on Today earlier this month.

“My husband will probably kill me because I said so, but his name is Rennie David Foster,” she said.

She explained to today’s host that she and David had some names [picked out], but my husband was in a chain of texts with his sisters and one of his sisters suggested an old family name. ‘

The Smash star continued: “It was his great-grandfather’s name, his grandfather’s name, so he has a long history in his family.”

Then, after the baby was born, “My husband said, ‘Hello, Ren Foster,’ and so I said, ‘That’s a good name.’ It’s a strong name. “

Katharine was previously married to 55-year-old Nick Cokas, but they broke up after she was caught kissing Michael Morris, the director married to Smash.

She became involved with David in 2017 and they tied the knot two years later in London, where she had starred in a West End production of Waitress.

Katharine had met David in 2006, when she was a contestant on American Idol and he was a guest mentor.

Actress Smash is David’s fifth wife – her most recent predecessor was Gigi and Bella Hadid’s mother, Yolanda, who was a real housewife in Beverly Hills.
