Katana Zero Dev says the free DLC is so great now, it’s “More like Katana 1.5”

Katana Zero

Katana Zero was one of the independent hits of 2019 and since then, the game’s developer, Askiisoft, has been working on the free DLC.

In February last year, it was revealed how the content will be three times larger than originally planned, and now, in a new update on the company’s website, it was revealed that it is “6 times” the size originally planned. Here’s what you can expect from so much content:

“This is just over half the size of the main game. It means more levels, mechanics, enemies, bosses and braided story elements. It’s less like a DLC and more like Katana 1.5.”

Despite the staircase, it will still be “on the house” (in other words, free). Although development has slowed in the last year, it is now returning to normal.

As for when it will arrive, the creator – Justin Stander “I haven’t really thought about it yet, but one thing is for sure.” will not expand further:

“The short answer is – I still don’t know. There is a lot of finished content, but this is a big project and I aspire to the same level of quality and attention of the basic game. all the programming and design – this is my passion project after all. But don’t worry! The game is progressing at a healthy pace and the whole team of developers is working hard on the production. The DLC will not expand either – the plan is set and now we are focusing on completing it. “

When Katana Zero originally arrived on Switch in April 2019, I praised its tough action sequences, raising the story and the impeccable sense of style. Find out more about this in our review.
