During an interview on Fox News, Rove was asked about Trump’s meetings with Congressional Republicans to object to the Electoral College vote next month and reports that Trump is entertaining invoking martial law to “repeat” the election. The president denied considering martial law.

Rove said he would believe the president denied proposing martial law, but pointed out that Flynn publicly suggested the president could do so. The former national security adviser made up the comment during an interview NewsmaxGreg Kelly Reports.

“Talk about an idiot idea,” Rove said. “No president can invoke the Insurrection Act of 1803 because he claims that the issue has to do with the buzz around the elections.”

“So General Flynn may have served honorably in the military, but he’s sure he’s not a constitutional scientist,” Rove continued. “And when it comes to giving the president good advice on politics, I think he’s definitely at the bottom of the list.”

He also ripped out against Powell, who told Fox News in a statement that she couldn’t speak to the president. Rove, who was an assistant to former President George W. Bush, quashed Powell’s theories of electoral fraud and some of the witnesses who claimed to support her case, including one who claimed there was 151 percent turnout in Wayne County, Michigan.

“Any idiot with access to Google and the election results in the county could have seen the turnout was 51 percent, not 151 percent,” Rove said.

“I mean, what she’s done to throw some kind of mud on the president through her antics is unbelievable,” he continued. “The president has been served so badly by this crowd, and she is the most important of them.”

The president and his allies have repeatedly claimed the election was stolen due to widespread voter fraud, despite their claims being disputed.
