Justin Thomas loses Ralph Lauren’s sponsorship after using anti-gay slurs

Justin Thomas lost sponsorship with Ralph Lauren after being caught using an anti-gay weakness during the PGA Tour Championships in Kapalua, Hawaii, last weekend.

Sports broadcasters caught the moment when the 27-year-old said “f —- t” to himself, after missing a putt in the third round during the January 9 tournament.

Thomas apologized the same day, saying his ugly language was “no excuse.”

Ralph Lauren said Friday that he was “discouraged” by Thomas’ language and that he was cutting ties with the PGA golfer.

“We are discouraged by Mr Thomas’s recent language, which is completely incompatible with our values,” the fashion company said in a statement.

“As we make our decision, our hope is that Mr. Thomas will do the hard work necessary to partner with us again – truly examining this incident, learning, growing and ultimately using his platform to promote inclusion.” , the company continued.

Thomas has been with Ralph Lauren since 2013 and would have been under contract until 2021, ESPN reported.
