Jose Quintana, the Los Angeles Angels, agree to a 1-year deal, the source said

The Los Angeles Angels, desperate to add the initial launch, on Tuesday accepted a one-year, $ 8 million contract with veteran leftist Jose Quintana, an ESPN source confirmed.

Quintana, who previously played for Angels’ current manager Joe Maddon while with the Chicago Cubs, was limited to just 10 innings in 2020, largely due to thumb surgery. Prior to that, the 31-year-old had an average of 32 beginners from 2013 to 2019, making an ERA of 3.72 with a weight-of-walk ratio of 3.23.

Quintana joins a rotation that includes Andrew Heaney, Dylan Bundy, Griffin Canning and potentially Shohei Ohtani, who falls somewhere at the top.

Quintana is the fifth one-year addition made by first-year general manager Perry Minasian, following the shortstop Jose Iglesias, closer to Raisel Iglesias, catcher Kurt Suzuki and left-back Alex Claudio. They will combine to earn $ 23.25 million in 2021.

Athletic first reported the deal.
