Jordyn Woods’ beloved NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns tested positive for COVID-19

Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns announced that he tested positive for coronavirus on Instagram on Friday.

The 25-year-old NBA player was particularly collapsed in connection with his diagnosis because his mother, 59-year-old Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, died of COVID-19 complications on April 13. .

“Before tonight’s game, I received another terrible call, which I gave positive to COVID,” Towns wrote.

“I will isolate immediately and follow every protocol. I pray every day that this virus nightmare will go away and I ask everyone to continue to take it seriously by taking all the necessary precautions.

He continued: “It breaks my heart that my family, especially my father and sister, continue to suffer from the anxiety that comes with this diagnosis, because we know all too well what the end result could be.”

Addressing his niece and nephew directly, the athlete promised to do sodon’t get in a box next to grandma and “beat that.”

“I pray for you, baby. You have this. God took you, ”commented Towns ‘girlfriend Jordyn Woods, as she continued to help her husband mourn seven of his relatives’ deaths from COVID-19 in March.

His announcement came shortly after the NBA announced Friday’s game between the Timberwolves and visiting the Memphis Grizzlies was postponed due to the league’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Last month, during an interview with ESPN about the upcoming NBA season, Towns talked about “a lot of coffins in the last seven months.”

“I’ve been through a lot, obviously starting with my mother,” Towns said. “I got a call last night that I lost my uncle.” I feel like I’ve been a little hardened by life and humiliated.

He did not say which other members of his family died.

The NBA star said she is still trying to prosecute her mother’s death, while seeking to protect the rest of her family from the ongoing pandemic.

His father, Karl Sr., tested positive for coronavirus earlier this year, but recovered.

“I have a lot of people who – in my family and in my mother’s family – received COVID. I’m the one still looking for answers, trying to find ways to keep them healthy.

“It’s just a big responsibility for me to keep my family well informed and to make all the necessary moves to keep them alive,” he added.

The city’s mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, died on April 13, at the age of 58, after being placed on a fan for 19 days.

A few weeks earlier, he shared an emotional Instagram post on March 25, in which he wrote that he was in a ventilator and in a medically induced coma as a result of COVID-19.

“We need more equipment and we need to help the medical staff on the front line,” he wrote in the video.

He continued: “Thanks to the medical staff who help my mother. You are all true heroes! Praying for all of us in this difficult time.

Subsequently, the cities donated $ 100,000 to the Mayo Clinic to help test patients for COVID-19.

His mother was a constant presence at all the great moments of his career and was often highlighted by fans for her enthusiasm to support her son in the crowd.

The basketball star said she felt compelled to share her mother’s story, detailing how she cared for her on social media so that others could better understand the impact of the pandemic.

Woods was previously linked to Tristan Thompson, after he was seen as an NBA player in the early hours of the morning at his home in Los Angeles in January 2019.

At the time, Thompson was in a relationship with the KUWTK star and Khloé Kardashian’s mother, who has been reconciled ever since. The couple is focusing on raising their daughter True, two.

The situation led to Woods falling in love with his famous family, including the end of his long-standing friendship with 23-year-old Kylie Jenner.
