Joe Buck will take a turn as “Jeopardy!” host guest

Joe Buck will be the guest host of “Jeopardy!” challenging him for the coveted permanent job, The Post has learned.

Buck’s episodes are expected to air sometime in the middle of summer, according to sources. The invited hosts did internships for a week or two. Not a word yet about how long Buck will last.

The attempt will not impact Buck’s program as the voice of MLB and the NFL on Fox.

Buck will join a group of guest hosts who have struggled to replace the late Alex Trebek. He will be second in the sports world.

For the past two weeks, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has hosted the program. Before Rodgers, the hosts included Katie Couric, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Ken Jennings and the show’s executive producer, Mike Richards.

Anderson Cooper, Bill Whitaker, Mayim Bialik, Savannah Guthrie and Dr. Sanjay Gupta are also on the program.

Buck, 51, has been the voice of the World Series for Fox since the 1996 Yankees won the World Series. He was named Fox’s top NFL player in 2002.
