The President of the United States, Joe Biden, said goodbye with a kiss from the first lady, Jill Bidenbefore boarding the Marine One in the White House to visit wounded soldiers in Maryland.
On the South Lawn of the White House, Biden spoke to Jill for a moment, then lowered his mask to say goodbye before heading to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, which was his first trip since taking office.

Biden spoke to reporters who were at the White House and recalled spending a lot of time as a patient at that medical center and also when his son Beau was hospitalized for brain cancer.
In 1988, while a senator from Delaware, Biden underwent surgery at that hospital for a brain aneurysm, which forced him to stay in the hospital for several months.

While he was vice president in the Barack Obama administration, he and Jill Biden visited the hospital regularly at Christmas to see wounded soldiers.
Bee Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Biden visited a coronavirus vaccination site and thanked hospital officials for the care they gave his son Beau during the final days of his 2015 battle with brain cancer.

Jill Biden to participate in migrant family reunification event
The first lady of the United States will participate in her husband’s government efforts to reunite the families of migrants separated by Donald Trump’s administration, the White House announced.
