Can you have a high-paying, six-figure job? Yes, if you choose wisely.

US News & World Report came up with an answer for jobs that pay $ 100,000 a year or more. “No job suits us all, but many of the best have a few attributes in common,” says its annual ranking of “best jobs” for 2021. For the first time in three years, the developer software did not achieve place no. 1. Dentists were also removed from the top 5 this year and ranked 9th on the list.

Nr. 1 was a nurse (average salary of $ 112,260 per year; education required is a master’s degree); followed by the software developer ($ 107,510 per year, which requires a bachelor’s degree); nurse practitioner ($ 110,700 per year, requiring a master’s degree); medical and health services manager ($ 100,980 per year, requiring a license); and doctor ($ 206,500 a year, requiring a doctorate).

The researchers analyzed the jobs with the highest projected numbers and the percentage of open jobs from 2019 to 2029, as established by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. They then looked at a number of other factors rated on a scale of 1 to 10, including stress levels, future career prospects, the unemployment rate and a projected 10-year increase in the number of jobs.
