Jessa Duggar is pregnant with baby number four.
The 28-year-old star, Counting On, and her husband, Ben Seewald, said they were expecting another child this summer, while revealing that Jessa had a miscarriage in 2020.
“After the heartbreaking loss of a baby last year, we are happy to share that another little Seewald is on the way,” the couple said.

Ta-da! Jessa Duggar is pregnant with baby number four

Family: Jessa and Ben, who got married in 2014, already have three children: four-year-old Spurgeon, three-year-old Henry and one-and-a-half-year-old Ivy
“The pregnancy goes smoothly and both the child and Jessa are doing well,” they added.
“We are so grateful to God for the precious gift of a new life! The children are delighted and we can’t wait to welcome the little one in our arms this summer.
In a video for TLC, Jessa said, “I feel great. I’m glad he came out of the first trimester, he was sick. But to feel good now and have more energy.
Jessa and Ben, who married in 2014, already have three children: four-year-old Spurgeon, three-year-old Henry and one-and-a-half-year-old Ivy.
In the TLC video, he said that their sons are both “very excited” to get a new little brother.
“Spurgeon and Henry are very excited. I understand, “he said. “We have small pregnancy apps on our phone that we watch and they can see updates on the baby’s progress and growth.”
Ivy, who turns two in May, doesn’t quite understand yet, and Jessa thinks it will be a “shock” when the baby arrives.

The couple intends to keep the sex of the baby secret, as they did with previous pregnancies

“In some respects, this being the fourth child, I think we feel a little more prepared. At least we know what to expect, Jessa said. “But in other ways, I feel like you never feel ready for the next transition in life.”
“We are very excited to see Ivy stepping into her role as a big sister. I think she’ll be great at this, she said.
While now experts in childcare, Jessa acknowledged that each new one is a surprise.

As for whether he’s expecting a boy or a girl, I don’t say.
“Our tradition has been to find out the genre, and Ben and I keep this a secret, we surprise the family when the baby is born,” Jessa said.
‘I think we’ll probably do it again this time. However, we certainly didn’t decide, because Sprugeon and Henry were interested in knowing, so that makes us assume.

“But if we tell them, it will not be a surprise, because they will surely erase it.”
Jessa also presented an update on Ivy’s progress, saying, “Ivy speaks, always says new words. He likes to sing and sing quite long songs. Except that she always surprises us with her vocabulary. It is very wide.
Historically, Jessa had home births with her children, although she had to be rushed to the hospital due to further complications.
In 2019, she gave birth in the living room while the TLC cameras rolled, working on the family’s brown leather sofa.
“Waiting for a pregnancy to meet your baby, it seems like it takes an eternity for the baby to be here,” Jessa said at the time. “So the first few moments immediately after the baby is born are the sweetest absolute moments in your life.”
But shortly after Ivy Jane was born, Jessa’s midwife called 911 and an ambulance came to pick up the new mother, who was still bleeding, and took her to the hospital.
It wasn’t the first time Jessa had experienced excessive bleeding after giving birth: when she gave birth to her first child, Spurgeon, she lost enough blood that her mother called 911, and Jessa had to have her blood transferred to the hospital.

Lately, there has been a bit of a break in the announcement about Duggar’s pregnancy.
Currently, the only other family member who has confirmed that he is expecting is Joe’s wife, 22-year-old Kendra, who is due to give birth for the third time this month.
Meanwhile, Jessa’s 26-year-old sister Jinger welcomed a daughter, Evangeline Jo, on November 22. She was the second child for Jinger and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.
Announcing her pregnancy last year, Jinger also said about a miscarriage she suffered.
“I went in and they tried to check the heartbeat and they couldn’t find the heartbeat. And they did an ultrasound and said I lost the baby, ‘she said later.
“It was very difficult for us,” Jeremy said. “It simply came to our notice then. And we were just announcing to our family and it hit us hard.

While Jessa will have the second of most children in the Duggar family, she is still behind her older brother, the sexually harmful Josh.
The 32-year-old and his wife Anna have six children.
Jill, 29, and her husband Derick Dillard have two children, while Joy Anna, 23, and her husband Austin Forsyth have two.
John David, 31, and his wife Abbie have one, as does Josiah, 24, and his wife Lauren.
If Duggar’s past calendar is an indication, 18-year-old Justin’s brother will be a father as soon as possible, after announcing his engagement to Claire Spivey in the fall.
