When Randy Moss was named the greatest receiver of all time and Jerry Rice only third or fourth, Rice noticed.

Rice posted his response on Instagram, with a list of his career statistics and Moss’s career statistics. This list looks like this:

seasons: Rice 21, muscle 14.

reception: Rice 1,549, muscle 982.

Court: Rice 22,895, Muscles 15,292

Touchdowns: Rice 197, muscle 156.

Super Bowl wins: Rice 3, muscle 0.

Super Bowl MVPs: Rice 1, muscle 0.

Career statistics are not close. Moss won a large number at the beginning of his career, but at the age of 33 he had the worst season of his career, at the age of 34 he did not play at all, and at the age of 35 he was a reserve before retiring. Rice was more than 9,000 meters tall after turning 33.

The argument in Moss’s favor is that, at best, he was capable of more spectacular plays than Rice. But comparing his entire body of work, Rice has the big advantage.

Rice ended his Instagram post with a comment that Moss uses on TV when one player dominates another: “You just got MOSSED!”
