The Central Electoral Council (JCE) said that they have not initiated any restructuring process in the IT department of that entity, as denounced by the Fuerza del Pueblo party.

The People’s Force pointed out the alleged irregular appointment of Ceira Merejo González and Danny Marcelino Reyes Ramírez, with the rank of Deputy Directors in the field of IT, and in one case requested their suspension until the JCE Plenary took a final decision on the issue. , before consultation and consensus with political parties.

The Plenum says that article 16 of the Organic Law no. 15-19 on the electoral regime states that the appointment of officials and employees will be the responsibility of the JCE and that the mentioned legal text expressly indicates the need for prior consultation with parties, groups and political movements is oriented only to the appointment of directors of elections, calculations, register civil status and the identity and electoral card, which will deal with the electoral register ”, without being subject to the consultation procedure the appointment or appointment of the other directors, deputy directors and employees, who will be freely appointed by the plenary session of this institution.

However, the JCE decided to assign the duties of Mr Danny Marcelino Reyes Ramírez, as of this date, to serve as special assistant in the office of Patricia Lorenzo Paniagua, Member of the Plenary, and Ms Ceira Merejo was ratified in González as as Deputy Director of IT at the institution.
