JBL introduces a new soundbar, retro amplifier with AirPlay 2

JBL on Thursday introduced a new range of sound bars, amplifiers and other audio accessories that work with – or rival – Apple products.

Ahead of the CES 2021 virtual conference, the audio company launched a series of new hardware at its virtual event “Harman Explore”, which celebrates 75 years since the founding of JBL. The new hardware includes several models that work with AirPlay 2 and other streaming platforms.

This includes the JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam. The $ 399.95 soundbar is equipped with four passive radiators and Harman MultiBeam technology for a surround sound experience. It will become available in the spring.

JBL has also introduced an integrated vintage-inspired amplifier. The $ 3,000 SA750 supports AirPlay 2, Alexa and other modern technologies, while delivering amplified sound for “incredible detail and accuracy.” The company says it will begin delivery in April.

With AirPlay 2 on both devices, users will be able to use them with devices such as HomePod or Apple TV. They will also be compatible with Siri for voice-activated playback control.

The new JBL Live Pro headphones eliminate active noise

The new JBL Live Pro headphones have an active noise cancellation effect and an “ambient” mode.

In addition, JBL unveiled a pair of wireless headphones called JBL Live Pro +. With adaptive noise cancellation and “ambient” noise, the headphones compete directly with Apple’s AirPods Pro. They will be priced at $ 179.95 and will be available for order on March 14, 2021.

“If the walls of JBL’s Northridge, California design center could speak, they would sing the awards for 75 years of pioneering acoustic design, translators and electronics,” JBL said of the new announcements.
