Jaycee Horn impresses in front of the Cowboys staff at Pro Fay

Brass Dallas Cowboys had a few busy days, focusing on fellow defenders available in the April project. After attending Alabama’s Pro Day to visit Patrick Surtain II, Vice President Will McClay and Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn made their way to South Carolina for Gamecocks.

The center of attention? The prospect in the first round, Jaycee Horn, and did not disappoint, slightly exceeding Surtain’s metrics.

With the Cowboys in 10th place, there is no doubt that a dynamic player will be available. Discussions were strong players such as Surtain, Florida Kyle Pitts, Oregon offensive feather Sewell or Rashawn Slater from Northwestern would be in battle for the team. However, Horn put a star next to his name with excellent numbers to support his aggressive nature in the film. He had to run 40 once after three different timers set their speed at 4.39.

Horn also proved his ability to rise with a vertical jump of 41.5.

Horn is not an unknown name in the NFL. Joe Horn, Jaycee’s father, most notably played for the Saints as a wide receiver.

His athleticism is evident in his film. In front of the Auburn Tigers, Horn had three approaches, two interceptions and four breaks. The game itself brought him national defensive player Walter Camp of the week and SEC defensive player of the week.

That performance was the best, but the top performances took place only once, as it recorded two interceptions and six deflections during the year, with 23 breakouts in its three seasons.

As the battle for CB1 spins Horn for Caleb Farley, scheduled for the operation, the intrigue surrounding the project will only increase from this point forward. The Cowboys’ best choice seems to turn into a conversation with so many sports players proving their tapes on professional days.
