Jason Tatum’s bombshell offers the Celtics victory over the Bucks

Boston – Jayson Tatum hit a triple to lead in the final second, and the Boston Celtics escaped Wednesday with a 122-121 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, in what was the team’s first meeting of the season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo missed a free kick that would have equalized the game with 0.4 seconds left.

Tatum scored 30 points, and Jaylen Brown had 33 for Boston, who started the fourth quarter with a 17-point lead. The Celtics were ranked 120-119 in 8.9 seconds.

Tatum spent a few seconds dribbling before taking a pumped shot from Antetokounmpo on the left. The ball defatted the glass before entering the basket.

The next service was thrown in the basket and Antetokounmpo tried to push him to score, but was fouled. The Greek, named the most valuable player in the NBA in the last two seasons, hit the first free throw, but missed the second.

Antetokounmpo scored 32 points, including 18 in the fourth period. Khris Middleton had 27 points and 14 rebounds for Milwaukee.

In vain Westbrook’s triple-double

Joel Embiid scored the lead with 1:09 minutes left and added 29 points and 14 rebounds, while the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Washington Wizards 113-107 on Wednesday night.

The loss ruined Russell Westbrook’s debut and “triple-double” with the Wizards.

Westbrook and Bradley Beal looked fantastic on their first day together and almost made the 76ers coach Doc Rivers lose in his Philadelphia debut. Westbrook had 21 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds for the Wizards, who earned it in a spectacular trade that sent John Wall, a pillar of the team, to the Houston Rockets.

Beal, a two-time All-Star and second in the league last season, scored 31 points.

Sixers made the most of the changes on the bench, hiring Rivers as a replacement for Brett Brown and having the mission to wake up a team that lost the ball in the first round of the playoffs last season. The franchise is looking for its first title since 1983.

Rivers needs to find a way to make Embiid and Ben Simmons work. These are two stellar players who have not yet won the rewards of their prodigious talents and who have instead frustrated the fans with their failures.

Simmons sealed the victory with a monstrous dunk in the final seconds.
