Apparently, Jason Isbell did it all. Beyond his Grammy-winning music career, he accidentally played a role in creating the meme 30-50 wild pigs, and wrote a song for A star is born that’s it probably the best Bradley Cooper solo song. And now he can add another important step to his extended resume: acting in a Martin Scorsese film. On Osage News, Isbell will debut acting in Scorsese’s adaptation Killers of the Flower Moon, with Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemons.
Conformable Osage News, “The story details the systematic assassinations of members of the Osage tribe in the 1920s and recounts the birth of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which investigated and uncovered the plot to kill Osages for their oil wealth.” The story is centered around the murderous brain of William “Bill” Hale, who will be played by De Niro. Isbell will play Bill Smith, who was the husband of Reta Smith, “Mollie Burkhart’s younger sister, who is tragically killed when Bill Hale’s associates throw her a house with dynamite.”
He will also be joined by fellow star Sturgill Simpson, who will play Henry Grammer, “a famous rodeo and bootlegger champion and good friend to Hale.” Simpson had previously appeared in Queen & Slim and Hunting, so this is not his first film rodeo. Twilight Saga: Eclipseis William Belleau and IrishmanLouis Cancelmi is also new additions to the cast.
