James Rodríguez continues to generate daily news and controversy. Now, while recovering from a new leg injury, a former Everton footballer is debating the midfielder’s position at the English club.

This is Victor Anichebe, a Nigerian footballer who played for Everton between 2006 and 2013, so he knows the club’s identity well.

In his statements, Anichebe suggests that James could be better used if he plays more of the “10” midfielder.

“I would like James Rodríguez to play behind the striker, not so much on the right. He is well cut on the left, but I want to see him behind the striker with more rhythm on the sides,” he said in ‘ Astro Stadium, which is broadcast via YouTube.

James’ position has been the subject of constant debate, not only in the clubs he has been to, but also in the Colombian national team. At Everton, his biggest participation was on the right, but he also enjoyed freedom in several games. The idea for him to play behind the striker is the opinion of the African.

For now, James is doubtful for Wednesday’s FA Cup match against Tottenham because of the discomfort he has in his legs, as confirmed by DT Ancelotti after the draw against Manchester United, when James scored a wonderful goal.
