Fear of the Ropes: 47-year-old James Marsden has admitted that he regrets refusing the role he was offered in the 2012 film Magic Mike about male strippers and said it was due to his “lack of courage”.

“There were a few things I said not in the past and I’m glad I said no and a few things that if I could do it again, I would do it,” the actor said on Tuesday night at Corden.

Marsden explained that he passed on the role due to “lack of courage.”

“I was afraid I would be edited from the movie and all my lines would be cut out and I would just be an extra runner with a rope,” he joked.

He added: “I have friends and family who still think it was a wise idea for me not to do it, because they don’t want to see me like that.”
