James left Real Madrid for free for Everton thanks to Jorge Mendes

One of the many controversies that have arisen around James Rodríguez in recent months is due to his departure from Real Madrid to Everton and the end of the contract. This is due to the fact that it was finally given for free, as the “Toffee” club maintained months later.

At the time, there was talk of 25 million euros (approximately) that Everton had to pay Real Madrid because the merengue club had put that price on him because he had another year of contract and clubs like Napoli and Atlético de Madrid wanted him. However, it was revealed that two businessmen moved their chips to leave Spain at zero cost.

Journalist Phil Kirkbride explained this information: “The Blues signed the Colombian superstar from Real Madrid with a free transfer in September. Initial reports claimed that Everton had to pay up to 25 million pounds (30 million euros) for Rodriguez, who was in the last year of his contract at the Bernabéu, but it was found out that the club hired him for free ”.

It should be noted that the transfer is free it hurt clubs like Envigado, Banfield and Porto they expected a percentage due to the FIFA solidarity rule, which would benefit the teams that trained players.
