Jake Paul’s knockout was an “embarrassing king” for Ben Askren

While Ben Askren seemed to easily take the knockout loss to Jake Paul, he acknowledged that any ridicule that came his way would be fair.

“I probably deserve it,” Askren said. “Because I was eliminated by Jake Paul. It’s embarrassing.

Paul, the YouTube star, eliminated Askren in the first round of the pay-per-view boxing match on Saturday night in Atlanta. Askren, a two-time NCAA champion and former UFC fighter, said he was fine, but the referee did not think he could continue.

Askren, 36, was guaranteed $ 500,000 for the fight.

“I really don’t care,” Askren said of the loss. “There is a pizza in my hotel room. I’m going to eat this. I will fly home and stay with my children tomorrow, and on Monday I will probably be in wrestling training. ”
