Alexis Gaitán, chief prosecutor of La Unión, explained that the criminal group is accompanied by an additional 25 defendants who also received a formal investigation with pre-trial detention on December 23, 2020 for three cases of murder, 13 proposals and conspiracies in the crime of murder. , a tempting massacre and terrorist organizations.

The prosecution pointed out that among the eight sent to prison yesterday after the hearing on the imposition of measures before San Miguel’s specialized investigating judge, Franklin Gutiérrez, who returned to the country from the United States to participate in the elections on February 28, as he had run for mayor of the municipality of Yayantique for the Gana party.

Prosecutor Gaitán reported that Gutiérrez is accused of being part of the alleged funders and is being prosecuted for the crimes committed by terrorist organizations and for propositions and conspiracy in the crime of murder.

The extermination group “El Diablo de Cordoncillo” received funding from abroad and had access to police information to operate clandestinely and to control the municipalities in the municipalities of San Alejo, Yayantique and La Unión, according to the chief prosecutor.
