Today, Jackson Health System announced that it is expanding its criteria for COVID-19 vaccines to its three locations. Starting Tuesday, March 9, Jackson will vaccinate Floridians in the following four categories:
· 65 years or older.
· Age between 50 and 64, with identification showing that you are a K-12 school staff member, a sworn law enforcement officer or a firefighter.
· 18 years or older and certifies that your doctor has recommended that you receive the vaccine because of your high-risk condition (no documentation required).
· 16-17 years and you must certify that your doctor has recommended that you receive the vaccine because of your high risk condition. No documentation or proof is required. A parent or legal guardian is required to accompany you to your appointment to give your consent.
In the past three months, the Jackson Health System has vaccinated more than 106,000 members of our community, including Florida residents over the age of 65, as well as residents between the ages of 50 and 64 with specific high-risk medical conditions. sworn police officers, K-12 school staff and firefighters.
Jackson will open its online dating portal today at JacksonHealth.org and people who meet the criteria listed above can get an appointment tomorrow. Jackson will continue to update the public on the availability of programming via Twitter and Instagram: @JacksonHealth.
Jackson will also continue to send personalized invitations to existing Jackson patients with certain risk factors and give them the opportunity to register without having to schedule online appointments. Jackson also remains committed to working with community partners and religious institutions in Miami-Dade County to vaccinate as many eligible individuals as possible.
