Jackson Health begins public COVID-19 vaccination campaign

MIAMI – Jackson’s health system began providing the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday to patients aged 65 and over.

The public health system will receive an additional 15,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine that will be given to the elderly, according to Lidia Amoretti, a spokeswoman for Jackson Health System.

The system is also preparing to launch an online platform to allow Miami-Dade County residents aged 65 and over to make appointments to receive the vaccine.

Also in Miami-Dade, Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach offers the vaccine to people aged 75 and over. For more information, call 305-674-2312.
