It is rumored that the new AirPods Pro and iPhone SE will be launched in April 2021

After sharing potential details about future iPad mini, iPad, iPad Pro and iPhone 13 models earlier this week, the Japanese blog Mac Otakara now claims that Apple intends to launch both the second generation AirPods Pro and the third generation iPhone SE in April 2021, the information coming again from sources from Chinese suppliers.

The report claims that the new AirPods Pro will come with a slightly redesigned charging case. Specifically, the report claims that the case will remain 21 mm thick, but will be 46 mm high and 54 mm wide. The current AirPods Pro case is 45.2 mm high and 60.6 mm wide, so the new case will apparently be a little narrower.

The report does not provide further details about AirPods Pro or iPhone SE. BloombergMark Gurman previously reported that Apple aims to make the second-generation AirPods Pro more compact by removing the stem coming out of the bottom, but it’s unclear whether Apple will do that. Gurman said Apple had a more rounded design in the test, which fills more of the ear, similar to Google’s Pixel Buds.

As for the iPhone SE, most rumors have focused on a larger version of the device with a 5.5-inch or 6.1-inch screen, which analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said will launch in the second mid-2021. Given that Mac Otakara refers to the future model as a “third-generation” iPhone SE, however, Apple may plan to stay with a 4.7-inch screen, as well as iPhone SE of the second generation – it is not clear.

Apple launched the current AirPods Pro at the end of October 2019, while the second generation iPhone SE was launched in April 2020.
