Veteran Puerto Rican salsa singer Ismael Miranda was discharged from the hospital, where he was recovering, following a stroke three weeks ago, although on medical recommendation he was transferred to rehabilitation to continue his recovery process.
“We want to share with you the wonderful news that Ismael Miranda was discharged and, on the recommendation of his doctors, was transferred to rehabilitation to continue the recovery process after his delicate operation,” the Miranda Battle family reported on Friday in a press release.

Miranda, 70, was operated on at the end of January for complications in the cerebellum, her relatives reported.

The 70-year-old artist was operated on on January 23 on the advice of his doctor after suffering complications in the cerebellum.
The artist had been hospitalized since January 22 due to dizziness that led to the decision to keep him under observation.
Doctors, after undergoing several tests, confirmed that the singer suffered a stroke.
Miranda celebrated 53 years in the music world in 2019.
In his career he is noted for being part of the Sextet Pipo y su Combo and Andy Harlow y su Sexteto’s group.
In 1967 he made his first record with Joey Pastrana entitled “Let’s Ball”, in which a teenager Miranda recorded his first radio hit with “Rumbón melón”.
With the good impression caused by his performances with Andy Harlow, his brother, Larry, decided to recruit him to his orchestra.
Convinced of the potential of the young singer, in 1968 Larry launched a new production entitled “Orquesta Harlow presents Ismael Miranda”, which was followed by recordings “Electric”, “Tribute to Arsenio Rodríguez”, “Harlow’s Harem”, “Abran paso” and “Chance”.
At the height of the salsa explosion, Miranda erupted with spectacular force in 1973, launching the production “This is how a son is composed”.
Success later accompanied him with songs such as “Empty Bed”, “Broken Glass”, “Borinquen has montuno”, “Like my people” and “Las cuarentas”.
