At this time, officials did not say how many were taken or when they were taken, but the SPFR requested an internal investigation from the St. Petersburg Police Department, according to a spokesman for the agency.
Spectrum News also contacted City Hall for comment.
“We are aware of the allegations and understand that there is an ongoing police investigation,” Communications Director Ben Kirby wrote in an email.

Last week, a paramedic rescuing firefighters from Polk County was arrested and charged with stealing vaccine bottles.
Subsequently, a PCFR captain was arrested in connection with this case.
