Introducing Genki: ShadowCast, the “easiest way” to connect your switch to a laptop

Human Things has launched a new Kickstarter campaign for a device called Genki: ShadowCast and it’s already good and has really destroyed its $ 30,000 goal.

In just a few hours, the team has already received promises worth over $ 300,000, and the device itself is priced at $ 39.

So what makes this device so great? It offers the “easiest way” to play console games on your computer and laptop, and it does so without the need for an internet connection or a TV. It has 4K HDMI input and USB Type-C output and is compatible with Switch, PS5 and XSX.

Note: HDMI 2.0 input brings 4K videos from the latest gaming consoles, including Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4/5 and XBox Series S / X

The USB-C output is transferred to the computer at 1920×1080 @ 30fps and 1280×720 @ 60fps

Accompanying ShadowCast is a new Genki Arcade app – making it easy to detect ShadowCast on any device you play. It is designed from the ground up to “minimize computing resources and prioritize latency”.

Human Things details an additional feature (essentially a more accessible capture card):

“The beauty of being able to connect your game console to your computer means you can record, edit and stream the game. While it may not be on par with a professional-quality capture card that costs 5-10 times more, it is more than capable of most gameplay capture needs, while being more flexible and easier to use on multiple platforms. “
