Inter Miami from MLS will have another year for Federico and Gonzalo Higuaín

Inter Miami from Major League Soccer (MLS) announced on Thursday the renewal of the veteran Argentine midfielder Federico Higuain, who will play another season with his brother Gonzalo.

It’s great to have Federico back“, said Chris Henderson, the new sports director of Inter Miami is a statement. “He is a valuable tool for the team not only for what he can contribute on the field, but also for what he brings to the dressing room, which is experience, a positive attitude and professionalism.”

Federico Higuain, 36, was employed by Inter October 10 passed a few weeks after his brother’s famous signing Gonzalo coming from Juventus.

However, his contribution to the team was a testament, as he participated in only four of them seven matches which remained from the campaign, all starting from the bench and adding a total of 20 minutes.

The midfielder, who has been renewed for one season, has an extensive career in MLS with eight campaigns in Columbus Crew and a half in DC United, with a total of 61 goals and 68 assists.

Higuain are the 18th pair of brothers serving as teammates at MLS.

Inter Miami, co-ownership of David Beckham, is restructuring its sporting direction following disappointing results in its debut season, in which it was eliminated in playoff playoff.

Last week, the Florida team hired the English coach Phil Neville, former partner of Beckham the Manchester United and the English team, as a relief for the fired Diego Alonso.
