Indiana hospital CEO on fire for black doctor who dies from “intimidated” COVID-19 staff

Indiana University Health CEO is under fire for launching a statement claiming that a black doctor who complained that he had received inappropriate COVID-19 treatment before his death “could have [had] intimidated ”her healthcare team. Dr. Susan Moore posted a video on Facebook claiming that her white doctor made her “feel addicted to drugs” because she asked for more narcotics to cope with her pain. Moore later wrote on Facebook that the hospital provided her with adequate care and that she was discharged before giving in to the virus weeks later at a separate hospital. “I don’t think I’ve failed in the technical aspects of providing Dr. Moore’s care,” wrote Dennis Murphy, CEO of Indiana University Health. “I am concerned, however, that we may not have shown the level of compassion and respect for which we strive to understand what matters most to patients.”
