Xbox consoles speed up download speeds while playing a game to reduce interference with its network features or multiplayer performance. While downloading is currently faster when Xbox is in hibernation, Microsoft will soon allow players to increase their download speed while the console is still active with a new “Suspend My Game” option in the download manager. How to suspend games on Xbox to increase download speed

  2. Go to My Games & Apps> View All> Manage> Queue.
  3. On the Queue Management page, select “Suspend my game.” Your console download speed will increase automatically.
