At least five other FMLN militants were shot dead after an unknown gunman attacked them as they were coming from an event of that political party’s mayoral candidate for San Salvador.
Nidia Díaz, the head of the FMLN faction, denounced this afternoon that, after a rally in Redondel Constitución, San Salvador’s candidate for mayor, Rogelio Canales, a caravan of FMLN militants was attacked on their way to the party’s headquarters in downtown San Salvador known as “229”.
“The images came from a blue sedan that crossed and pulled out a gun and started firing at comrades,” Diaz said.
One of them died and another is torn between life and death in the intensive care unit of Rosales Hospital. There are other injured who are in Rosales Hospital, their condition is delicate, said Díaz, through a sound he sent to journalists.

“It is a total crime to attack people in this way, it expresses intolerance and hatred that Nayib Bukele promotes to the population, the electoral rules are not the same, I ask the prosecutor to take action in this regard and the Supreme Electoral Court,” said the FMLN leader.

FMLN sources explained that 4 militants were taken to Rosales Hospital, “unfortunately one died, 2 tubes and one stable”, they reported.
Meanwhile, police on their Twitter account reported that an attack on FMLN people took place in downtown San Salvador.
