IMSS is the best medical school, says Zoé Robledo at the graduation of the resident doctors

In recognition of the graduate medical staff, eight doctors received a diploma and were even called upon to remain at IMSS to continue their training and begin their formal working lives.

He added that in order to strengthen the training of resident doctors and provide them with opportunities to access the IMSS, they worked with the National Union of Social Security Workers (SNTSS) for new employees and to cover the shortage of specialists in 2020.

The director of the health institute indicated that last year, before the Covid-19 pandemic, 5,229 doctors and 16,470 nurses were employed, which was the largest amount of admission to IMSS in the last six years.

The closing ceremony of the medical specialization courses was also attended by the director general of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Arturo Reyes Sandoval, and the virtual rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Enrique Graue Wiechers.

In addition, he applauded the work done by health workers during the Covid-19 pandemic and assured that the country will have permanent debts for their work, which is why the Senate of the Republic recognized these professionals with the Belisario Domínguez medal.

Meanwhile, Arturo Reyes, CEO of IPN, stressed that the medical profession must be constantly updated and an example of this is the emergence of Covid-19.

“Higher education institutions are called to work in coordination with organizations in the health sector, such as IMSS,” concluded the director of the Polytechnic.
