iMac Pro is no longer custom configurable, available “Up to consumable”

Apple seems to be on the verge of discontinuing the iMac Pro, with the store page for the latest all-in-one Mac, including a “While consumption drops” slogan and only the base model, with no custom configurations available for purchase .

imac pro until stocks run out

‌IMac Pro‌ was released in December 2017 and, although there have been a few changes to the configurations available over the years, it has not received any substantial hardware updates during its lifetime. As a result, we have been recommending for some time that users do not purchase ‌iMac Pro‌, as the high-end iMac standard currently offers better value.

There have been a few rumors about an updated Mac Pro year over the years, including from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo almost exactly a year ago.

It’s unclear whether ‌iMac Pro‌ is completely discontinued or whether Apple sells through existing stock before an upgrade, but the unusual low-consumption note suggests that the car may indeed be on the verge of being completely discontinued. If an updated version comes out, it looks like it may not be ready to be released for some time and there may be a gap in availability once the current model sells.

(Thanks, Ben!)
