The test positivity rate is a value that the state began providing at the end of October. It is calculated using the total number of positive tests over the total number of tests. This is the metric used by state health officials to make mitigation decisions.
A total of 1,333,475 doses of vaccine were delivered to Illinois providers, including Chicago, with an additional 496,100 doses allocated to federal government partners for long-term care facilities, bringing the total number delivered in Illinois to 1,829,575.

IDPH says vaccine distribution numbers are reported in real time, and vaccine administration numbers remain at up to 72 hours.

Suburban Cook County could impose restrictions

Suburban Cook County is on track to ease COVID restrictions as soon as Tuesday.

Will and Kankakee counties moved in the 4-month phase, which means reduced restrictions on restaurants, bars and other companies.

Phase 4 guidelines mean that meals and drinks indoors are now allowed for parties of up to 10 people. All tables must be at a distance of 6 feet, but barriers can be installed to help safely separate the seats. Museums have a capacity of 25%. Theaters, cinemas and performing arts centers can also welcome up to 50 guests.

Jeff Bailey, manager of Town and Country Lanes in Joliet, said he is looking forward to allowing more customers inside, which will also increase sales.

“We are very excited about the future and are optimistic about the way things are going in the state,” Bailey said, adding that the family business has strict safety guidelines.
