Illinois COVID Update Today: IL reports 2,082 new coronavirus cases, 20 deaths

CHICAGO (WLS) – Illinois health officials reported 2,082 new cases of COVID-19 and 20 deaths Tuesday.

The total number of cases in Illinois now stands at 1,150,170, with a total of 19,686 deaths since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the last 24 hours, the laboratories reported 55,705 copies for a total of 16,739,500.

As of Monday night, 2,117 patients in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 497 patients were in intensive care and 240 patients with COVID-19 were in ventilators.

The seven-day preliminary positive test nationwide from February 2-8 is 4.0%.

A total of 1,638,125 doses of vaccine were delivered to Illinois providers, including Chicago, with an additional 496,100 doses allocated to federal government partners for long-term care facilities, bringing the total number delivered in Illinois to 2,134,225.

IDPH reports that a total of 1,417,156 doses of vaccine were administered, including 216,522 at long-term facilities. The seven-day average of vaccines administered is 55,455.

IDPH says vaccine distribution numbers are reported in real time, and vaccine administration numbers remain at up to 72 hours.

The city’s inland vaccination sites will remain open, as will the mass vaccination site at Fairgrounds Lake County in Grayslake. Officials there said the need for frequent staff rotation from the cold could cause delays.

-Clinton County: 1 70-year-old man
– Cook County: 1 man of 40 years, 1 woman of 60 years, 1 man of 60 years, 1 woman of 70 years, 2 men of 70 years, 1 man of 80 years
– Edwards County; 1 man of 70 years

– LaSalle County: 1 woman 70, 1 man 70, 1 woman 90
– Madison County: 1 man of 80 years
– McDonough County: 1 man aged 80 years
– McHenry County: 2 men from the 70’s
– McLean County: 1 woman of 80 years
– Monroe County: 1 man from the 90s
– St. county Clair: 1 man of 70 years
– Winnebago County: 1 woman from the 90s
