Illinois COVID Update Today: IL reports 1,682 new cases of coronavirus, 30 deaths

CHICAGO (WLS) – Illinois Department of Public Health officials reported 1,682 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 30 deaths on Wednesday.

IDPH reported a total of 1,202,709 COVID-19 cases, including 20,810 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of Tuesday night, 1,157 Illinois patients were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 242 patients were in intensive care and 111 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

In the last 24 hours, laboratories have reported testing 71,488 specimens for a total of 18,804,759 since the pandemic began.

The seven-day preliminary positive test nationwide from March 3-9 is 2.6%.

A total of 4,323,145 doses of vaccine were delivered to Illinois providers, including Chicago, with another 414,900 doses allocated to federal government partners for long-term care facilities, bringing the total number delivered in Illinois to 4,738,045.

When will children be able to receive the COVID vaccine?

IDPH reports that a total of 3,567,927 vaccine doses were administered, including 349,983 at long-term facilities. The seven-day average of vaccines administered is 95,369.

A total of 1,247,781 people in Illinois are fully vaccinated

On Tuesday, 104,777 doses of the vaccine were given.

-Christian County: 1 woman in the 90s
-Coles County: 1 woman of 50 years
-Cook County: 2 men 50 years old, 1 woman 60 years old, 1 woman 70 years old, 1 man 70 years old, 2 men 80 years old, 1 woman 90 years old
-Edgard County: 1 man of 50 years
-Fayette County: 1 man aged 70 years
-Jeferson County: 1 60-year-old man
-Kane County: 1 30-year-old man, 1 70-year-old woman
-Kendall County: 1 woman aged 70 years
-Lake County: 1 woman of 80, 1 woman of 90 years
-Ogle County: 1 woman from the ’80s
-Perry County: 1 50-year-old man
-Rock Island County: 1 woman aged 60 years
-Sf. Clair County: 1 man of 50 years, 1 man of 60 years, 2 females of 70 years, 1 woman of 80 years, 1 woman of 90 years
-Stephenson County: 1 70-year-old man
-Will County: 1 woman of 80 years
-Winnebago County: 1 woman of 80 years
