Identify the deceased during the Capitol break

Columbia County Police have identified the three people who had medical emergencies and died in the federal Capitol raid.

The people are Kevin Greeson, 55, from Athens, Alabama; Rosanne Boyland, 34, from Kennesaw, Georgia, and Benjamin Phillips, 50, from Ringtown, Pennsylvania.

Police Chief Robert Contee did not provide details on the exact causes of those people’s deaths or whether there were directly involved in Wednesday’s Capitol Hill break-in.

Contee noted that the three were “on the Capitol when they experienced their medical emergencies.”

Greeson’s family said he had a heart attack. The family described Gresson as a supporter of President Donald Trump, but denied that he was an advocate of violence.

Capitol police said a fourth person, identified as Ashli Babbitt, was shot by an element of Capitol police as the crowd headed for the House of Representatives. Babbitt died in a hospital.

The siege of the Capitol by Trump supporters occurred when Congress certified President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
