“I don’t know how to say,” said a witness in the Odebrecht case about questions about alleged bribes paid to Díaz Rúa

Defendant Víctor Díaz Rúa’s defense showed on Tuesday that some of the documents prepared by the expert company GR Compliance have several deletions and deletions in their content that could “hide relevant information”.

During the defense’s counter-argument, the “star witness” in the Odebrecht case, Dantas Bezerra, admitted that there were “black shadows”, erasures and stains on various pages of the text.

Bezerra identified his signature in documents extracted by the company, which he had repeatedly described as “forensic experts.”

The Brazilian witness stated that, in this specific case, it is normal for a GR compliance report to contain attacks or deletions.

In questioning, where the defense asked Bezerra to answer only “yes or no,” the witness admitted that his signature was found on documents, but did not acknowledge whether the transfers were made to Díaz Rúa or his business.

“I can’t say,” was the response from the Brazilian construction company’s representative to questions about bribes paid to defendant Díaz Rúa.

The defense pointed out that the document signed by Bezerra, whose mother tongue is Portuguese, was in Spanish, so that the witness could understand “only part of the text”.

In response to this statement, Bezerra said he understood it because he was advised by outside lawyers he “trusted”.

The witness also stated that he was not present when the bribery money was transferred to Díaz Rúa, Conrado Pittaluga and Ángel Rondón.

In this case, the defendants face charges of receiving a bribe of US $ 92 million from the Brazilian company to award them works contracts from the Dominican state.

About the observance of GR
