Hulu’s live TV offer receives more than a dozen new channels through a multi-year agreement with ViacomCBS.

The deal will bring Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, VH1, MTV, MTV2, MTV Classic, CMT, TV Land, BET, BET Her, Nick Jr., NickToons and TeenNick to work – tha ViacomCBS spokesman told Gizmodo that it does not share details about levels or sync at this time and it is unclear whether the new channels will be included in the base level or as part of the separately grouped supplements.

However, the partnership will help keep some of Hulu’s existing offerings, including CBS and CBS Sports, Smithsonian Channel, CW and PVOD through Showtime, among other content. Currently, Showtime is offered as premium selection which adds $ 11 a month to the cost of a user’s plan.

“We are pleased to have reached an extensive agreement with Hulu, which emphasizes the value of our strong brand portfolio for next-generation television platforms and viewers,” said Ray Hopkins, president of US Networks Distribution at ViacomCBS, in a statement. “Hulu continues to be an excellent partner, and this agreement guarantees that Hulu + Live TV subscribers can now enjoy our top news, sports and entertainment content for the first time.

Again, it is unclear what the price or launch of these new assets will look like. But Hulu would be wise to offer old channels like Nickelodeon and Comedy Central through its core packages – especially given the recently announced rising prices which saw both ad-free and ad-supported versions the live TV package costs about $ 10 a month. Service also recently lost support for regional Fox sports.

While the addition of cartoons and more entertainment programs will not make up for the loss of regional sports coverage, it could at least justify the increase in subscription costs.you really are, really that Daily show or The park in the south, at least. May be.
