Given the rumors of a possible merger of MX and MLS League in the United States In a few years, the former footballer and technical director of the Mexican national team, Hugo Sanchez, expressed his total rejection of this idea, because he believes that, for very little money, they sell the prestige of Mexican football by combining it with that of the North American country.
In your column for ESPN, where he collaborates as a sports analyst, Hugo Sánchez showed his annoyance and negativity at the merger that the directors of the MX League showed their concern about the achievement with MLS, clearly showing that the leaders are only looking for economic benefit and do not see further, forgetting the repercussions it will have on sports.

Hugo claims that, for a very low economic benefit, Mexico would help the United States to raise its football level, being in a direct and constant competition with the clubs in the MX League, a situation that he does not consider appropriate.
Sánchez recalled his participation in American football in the late 1980s, when he played football in San Diego, assuring that the dream of the United States is to reach the level that Mexico has in football, so they made major efforts to hire some great international personalities such as Pelé, Beckenbauer, Cryuyff and celebrities who are about to retire.
It’s a “help me learn and share quality and talent, because I help them get a lot of money,” Hugo wrote.
Sánchez stressed that the interest of Mexican managers is purely economic, because if they were looking to grow in sports, they would not have abandoned the Conmebol competitions, where they would have a football development.
“For economic benefits, the directors decided to withdraw Mexican teams from these competitions and this affected us in sports”
Hugo fears that this merger will end up being negative for Mexico in sports, because he predicted that in the future, with this system, the United States will equal and even surpass the level of Aztec football.
