How to watch Times Square Ball Drop on New Year’s Eve 2020

How to track the falling ball in a year that dropped the ball.

Unfortunately, Times Square will be closed to the public due to coronavirus problems, marking the first time the premises are empty on New Year’s Eve 1907.

However, this does not mean that NYE partygoers will not have a ball: the iconic globe will still fall at midnight as part of a broadcast event.

How to watch the live stream

People can watch the annual New York show in New York from home, tuning in to a six-hour ad-free webcast presented by the official co-organizers of New Year’s Times Square, Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment.

The virtual ball launch ceremony will once again be hosted by Jonathan Bennett and will feature shows by Jennifer Lopez, Cyndi Lauper, Jimmie Allen, Machine Gun Kelly, Andra Day, Gloria Gaynor, USO Show Troupe and Waffle Crew.

In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, Times Square 2021 webcasting will be banned from the public and will adhere to New York State health protocols.

The annual event will start at 18:00 and end at 12:15

Viewers can stream live ball coverage at TimesSquareNYC.org, NewYearsEve.nyc, Livestream.com/2021, TimesSquareBall.net and via Facebook Live.
