How to stream PS5 and Xbox Series X / S games to all your devices

Is there anyone else in your household who keeps the big screen TV? Would you like to play in another room without putting your console around? If you managed to get your hands on A PlayStation 5, a Xbox Series X., or a Xbox Series S, You can transmits games from these consoles to other devices on the same wifi network.

Although you don’t need a particularly fast wifi signal to fly around your home for this to work, you need a stable one to get the best results. If you can, we recommend that you connect your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X / S directly to the router via an Ethernet cable. Disabling other devices using Wi-Fi will help. Here’s how to stream locally

PlayStation 5

Sony offers an official feature to allow you current from PS5 to other named devices Remote playback. Before you begin, you must turn the function on console. Open System menu from settings, then choose Remote playback and turn on Enable Remote Play switch. Then go there Power saving and Functions available in Sleep mode, and makit’s sure Stay connected to the Internet and Enable PS5 Activation on the network are enabled because it means you can still wake up the console from another device.

With these sorted settings, what you need is Sony Remote playback application for choosing the operating system. It works on Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS, so you can stream to any phone, tablet, laptop or desktop with one of these operating systems installed, as long as you are on the same local WiFi network as the actual PlayStation 5.

For Windows and macOS, you’ll also need a DualSense or DualShock controller to use with your chosen device, so you’ll need to purchase an additional one or borrow one from the PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 console. For Windows computers , The controller must be connected directly via USB, but Macs can use Bluetooth controllers or a direct connection (pick Bluetooth from System Preferences to wirelessly associate a controller).

On mobile, you can connect a PS controller for games (recommended) or try using your phone on-screen touch controls (not recommended). Controllers can be paired on Android by choosing Connected devices in Settings and on iOS choosing Bluetooth in Settings.

On any device on which you install Remote Play, you will be prompted to sign in to your PSN account. The program should be able to automatically detect PlayStation 5 on your local network, assuming you have set it up correctly, and after a few seconds, the PS5 screen will appear inside the Remote Play software. You can download using the PlayStation controller and work with the PS5 as if you were sitting in front of it.

Click the toothed icon on the opening screen, then Video quality for remote playback to set the quality at which the PS5 transmits video to your computer or mobile device – reducing this quality can help you if you have trouble getting a stable connection. Other options are available during streaming on mobile applications, such as whether or not the controller is always displayed on the screen.

Xbox Series X / S

Microsoft hasn’t yet enabled local streaming on an Xbox Series X or Series S console on a Windows computer – which is pretty weird, given that it’s so simple on older Xbox One consoles. The functionality is under development, but it’s not live at the time of writing, and while rumors of an update are starting to gain momentum, there’s no indication of a release date at this time.

It’s the same story for streaming from a new Xbox console to a Mac computer for now. This was not natively supported on Xbox One X and Xbox One S, but you can use a third-party tool, such as OneCast to get the job done – this approach won’t work on the Xbox Series X and Series S for now.

Until local computer streaming support is fully formed and fully functional from Microsoft, you’ll need to settle for streaming on phones and tablets. On the Xbox, open Settings and choose Devices and connections and Remote functions, and turn on Enable remote functions option.

Then you need the official Xbox app for Android or iOS. Once you have gone through the initial signin and the setup process, tap the login button in the upper right corner (to the left of the ringtone icon), then Set up a console and follow the on-screen instructions (unless you’ve already gone through this process).

Assuming that Xbox is turned on and online, you’ll be connected after a few seconds and you should see the Xbox display on your phone or tablet.

You’ll also need to connect a gamepad of your choice to your mobile device to actually get the Xbox interface. The official Xbox controllers will work fine or you can choose from any of themparty alternatives that will work with your phone or tablet. Bluetooth accessories can be added via Connected devices in Settings on Android or via Bluetooth in Settings on iOS.
