Even worse, the voices of other players come through that little speaker on the face of the PS5’s DualSense controller. (Yes, indeed.) Even worse, Destroy AllStars provides some frustrating tools to help players get away from scandals. As far as I know, there is no way in the game to move or report hostile players. You can tap the trackpad to retrieve a list of everyone in each match, but there is no way to actually interact with any of the usernames displayed. It’s just a list. There are also no built-in settings in the options that will allow you to turn off wholesale voice chat.

In other words, to make everyone shut up, you’ll have to rely on system-level tricks. Provided you feel good in the (toxic) party discussions, here are the two simplest options at hand.
Use of activity cards
As you select your character before the game, you should see a notification that appears in the upper right corner of the screen: “Game voice chat has begun.” Once you have seen this, you are clear to be silent. Touch the PS button. Navigate to ‘Voice chat | Destroy AllStars”Activity card (probably the first to appear) and hit Square. You can do this even after the match has started, but you will probably be sprayed. Just a head up.

Deactivating the DualSense controller
When you press the PS button, you’ll draw up the “control center”, a row of icons at the bottom of the screen. Control center is customizable; when you have opened it, press the Options button. Before playing, change the bar to include the “sound” icon. At any time, you can click on it and turn the controller speaker all the way. This will make everything beautiful and quiet.
Of course, the fact that players should even fall back on system-level solutions is not ideal. It’s a little weird that voice chat is enabled by default and it’s weirder that it comes through the controller speaker. But it is truly astonishing that there is no apparent way to move individual players on the game, to report offensive nonsense in the game, or to turn off voice chat altogether, which quickly turned out to be distracting, in the best case and contempt, in the worst case.
