Apple has quietly launched a tool that lets you copy all the images stored in Apple Photos to Google Photos.
It may be helpful for a number of reasons. It’s an easy way to move everything if you’re switching to an Android phone, because you can’t upload Apple Photos from an Android phone. Like Apple Photos, Google Photos will create auto-highlight videos set to music, but it will also automatically create collages, animations, add filters (which often look great), and more. Both services have their strengths and use both as a way to create a backup of each other.
It’s also useful if you want to switch from iCloud storage to Google One storage. Apple charges $ 0.99 / month for 50 GB, $ 2.99 / month for 200 GB or $ 9.99 / month for 2 TB of storage. Google plans have a similar price, but allow you to share 100 GB with your family for $ 1.99 a month, while Apple only offers family sharing in its 200 GB and 2 TB plans. Google also has a 10 TB plan of $ 49.99 / month, if you have one lot data and I just want to keep everything there.
One caveat: the transfer is not immediate. He said that my 117 GB library, with over 20,000 photos and over 800 videos, would take between three and seven days to move.

- First, go to the Apple privacy website (privacy.apple.com/account) on your computer.
- Sign in with your Apple account.
- Choose “Request a transfer of a copy of your data”.

- Under “Choose where you want to transfer your photos,” select “Google Photos.” It’s the only option right now.
- Check the boxes to transfer videos and photos.
- Touch Continue.
- Please confirm that you are aware that your photos and videos will not be completely transferred if Google One runs out of space by tapping “Continue” again.
- Sign in with your Google Account and give Apple access to your Google Photos library.
- Choose “Confirm transfers”.
