The general budget for this year 2021 provided an element of $ 1,260,400,000 RD to be distributed among the parties that make up the country’s electoral system.
According to JCE regulation 01-2021, launched on Wednesday evening, only the parties of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), which took first place with 44.95%, and the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), with 32.30%, were declared majority .
According to this resolution, the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) party reached 4.54 and the Dominican revolutionary parties (PRD) 3.57%; Christian Social Reformist (PRSC), 2.96%; Alianza País (Alpaís), 1.37%, and Dominicanos por el Cambio (DXC), 1.04%, which makes them a minority, like the other political groups.
The remaining 18 games reached between 0.19% and 0.85%.
In accordance with Article 61 of Law 33-18, on political parties, groups and movements, the economic contribution will be delivered as follows: Eighty percent (80%), distributed equally among parties that have reached more than five to one hundred (5%)) of the valid votes cast in the last elections.
Twelve percent (12%) was distributed among all parties that reached more than one percent (1%) and less than five percent (5%) of the valid votes cast in the last election. Eight percent (8%), distributed among the parties that reached between zero point zero one percent (0.01%) and one percent (1%) of the valid votes obtained in the last elections.
By law, parties who have reached more than one percent will receive the following amount.
PRM and PLD because they are the only two who got more than 5% would receive the amount of $ 504,160,000 RD each. That is, between the two, it would amount to RD 1,008,320,000
While FP, PRD, PRSC, Alpais and DXC, which reached over 1% in last year’s elections, would get 30,249,600 RD.
