Houston Winter Storm: 4 Children Hospitalized for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning After Heat Grill

Four children are among the six people who were rushed to hospital on Monday on suspicion of carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the Cy-Fair Fire Department.

The fire department said a family in an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Easton Commons Drive allegedly tried to heat their unit with a charcoal grill.

The conditions of the people involved were not immediately disclosed.

Following the incident, firefighters remind people of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, especially as the area sinks deeper into extremely cold temperatures.

“Please remember to never heat your house with a grill or oven,” he posted as a firefighter. “Please remember to never run a generator or grill inside your home. They produce carbon monoxide, which is a deadly, colorless and odorless gas.”
