The Federal House of Representatives is preparing to cast its final vote on the bill that would lead to the COVID-19 stimulus package proposed by President Joe Biden.
After the Senate approved it and included amendments, the package returned to the lower house for a final green light before the president’s signing.
As reported by CNN, a Democratic special assistant informed them that while majority leader Steny Hoyer said the vote would take place on Tuesday, it will likely take place on Wednesday, March 10.
Another official in the Chamber told the media that the delay does not correspond to a specific problem, but to details of the measure taking time to process.
The $ 2.4 trillion package includes a third $ 1.4 billion incentive check and billions for states and municipalities.
In addition, the $ 300 unemployment benefit will be extended through September 6.
The first $ 10,200 of this unemployment benefit will have a tax credit that will be applied to households receiving less than $ 150,000 per year.
It also suggests that parents receive a credit of $ 3,600 per year for each child under the age of 6.
While for kids between 6 and 17 years old, the credit would be $ 3,000, an increase of $ 1,000 compared to the amount approved in the previous package.
