Horizon Zero Dawn’s forecasters will focus on continuing after the new PC patch

Horizon Zero Dawn was pretty miserable when it appeared on PC last year. It was a shame, considering it was the first PlayStation exclusive bug to make the leap to PC. But Guerrilla Games has been constantly updating it to fix all sorts of issues, and yesterday the game received patch 1.10, adding some more fixes and performance improvements.

Notably, this patch marks the beginning of Guerrilla slowing down their HZD updates so they can change their focus to work on continuing the game, Horizon Forbidden West.

“As our team continues to develop our future Horizon Forbidden West title, we move to less frequent updates for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC after this patch. Please note that we will continue to monitor our community spaces as always! ” they said.

“We want to thank you all for your continued support and for sending the emergency reports in recent months. The information we received through your reports was invaluable to further investigate and help address more complicated issues that we fixed in patch 1.10. ”

Strangely, these quotes are no longer actually on the Guerrilla site. They were there when the post was published yesterday, but it seems to have been removed now. It’s amazing why – there doesn’t seem to be any particularly sensitive information out there. It seems a pretty natural assumption that the Horizon team would work harder to continue the game so far and I can’t think of any reason to get rid of the “thank you” community.

I contacted Guerrilla Games to ask why they removed these pieces, but I still haven’t received a response.

Horizon Forbidden West was announced in June last year and is expected to appear sometime this year. It is unclear now whether it will be released on PC; At this point it looks like it will be a PlayStation scloosie.

Despite numerous bugs (such as the hilarious one that accidentally made the main character Aloy a small child forever), Nate still thought the game was great in his Horizon Zero Dawn review, saying, “It’s one one of the most compelling and beautiful adventures in the open world ever made. “
