Honk is trying a new Riff in messaging

Once upon a time, there was a the application called Yo. All he did was send your friends the message “Yo”. It was one of the best mobile apps ever made, and, although it still exists, everyone deleted it years ago and there is no one left in Yo. Now, a new app, Honk, would like us to arrive again, but this time we’ll say “Honk.”

Toot it positions itself primarily as a messaging app designed to make text chat feel more like an IRL conversation. After you download the app on iOS (Android doesn’t exist yet), open a chat with a friend, and you’ll see a live stream of what your friend is writing in real time. There are currently no group discussions. It’s about recreating an individual interaction, complete with the ability to feel comfortable – tell the secrets, because each message disappears as it appears. You’ll still want to keep your true secrets limited to Signal or an old-fashioned whisper in your ear, but this works for fun things.

I tested it, and everything seems to be up and running. You can send photos or animated reactions that explode on the screen, but, most of all, you only talk to one person while you are trying to correct their typos or you decide to say something else. Has anyone ever sent you a message and immediately followed with “I shouldn’t have said that”? Well, that person had no excuse. He should have looked at their message before sending it. But on Honk, a user can eventually blame a bad message for a reckless slip of the tongue (or finger).

But you can’t just download a download of information about your friends when they’re not around …must be in the application to view messages. If you want to chat with a friend, you have two options: open the app and see who’s online or send them a Honk. The Honk button sends them a notification message that says: “[Insert friend name] he honked at you. ” If a user presses the button a second time, a message will be sent saying “[Insert friend name] he honked at you again. “

While the issue of real-time messaging might attract some people there, I would argue that sending an Honk is the real hallmark of the Honk killer, and should be used primarily to send cryptic horns. I just need everyone to download the app for a short time so I know my Honks will find a home.
